Ali Fazıl Kasap returns to CHP: 'I am returning to my home'
Kütahya Deputy Ali Fazıl Kasap has announced his resignation from the Felicity Party (Saadet Partisi) and his return to the CHP. Kasap stated that he decided to return to the CHP after the efforts he made to ensure the survival of the Felicity Party's parliamentary group were fulfilled. With this move by Kasap, the number of seats held by the Felicity Party in Parliament has dropped to 20, while the CHP's seat count has risen to 130.
Kütahya Deputy Ali Fazıl Kasap stated that he had joined the Felicity Party following the passing of Felicity Party Kocaeli Deputy Hasan Bitmez in order to prevent the collapse of the Felicity Party's parliamentary group.
Kasap expressed that during that process, other parties did not contribute to keeping the Felicity Party Group afloat, whereas the CHP provided support, carried the opposition, and attempted to be the voice of the opposition.

"WE ARE RETURNING TO THE FAMILY HEARTH"
Pointing out that the Felicity Party Group has become capable of standing on its own following the decision for the Felicity, Future (Gelecek), and DEVA parties to act together, Kasap said, "We have fulfilled our mission and our duty. We are returning to our home, to the family hearth."
Ali Fazıl Kasap announced that he had submitted his petition regarding his resignation from the Felicity Party and his return to the CHP to the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), stating, "My return to my party will be announced at the CHP parliamentary group meeting to be held next week. Our Chairman will make a speech of appreciation." Meanwhile, with Kasap's resignation, the number of seats held by the Felicity Party in Parliament has dropped to 20, while the CHP's seat count has risen to 130.
