All eyes on the CHP Istanbul Provincial Congress!
In the Republican People's Party (CHP), all eyes are on the Istanbul Provincial Congress, which will send the highest number of delegates to the party's Grand Congress on November 4-5. In the congress where over 600 delegates will vote, Cemal Canpolat, whose name is associated with the party headquarters, and Özgür Çelik, associated with the change advocates, will compete for the presidency.
The Istanbul Provincial Chair of the CHP will be determined at the 38th Ordinary Istanbul Provincial Congress to be held today. Over 600 delegates will cast their votes in the congress, where CHP Bahçelievler District Chair Özgür Çelik, supported by the change advocates, and former CHP Istanbul Provincial Chair Cemal Canpolat, supported by the party headquarters, will compete. It is stated that the result in Istanbul will influence the 38th Ordinary Grand Congress that the CHP will hold on November 5. For this reason, all eyes are on Istanbul, which will send 196 delegates to the grand congress.

Stating that he will equip the party with leftist values, Canpolat said, “We will ensure change by introducing the CHP to new faces. We will make ideas compete, not individuals.” Meanwhile, Çelik stated that he is a candidate for the position to advance the change, saying, “We have the power to start the journey to power.”
CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu and Chairman candidate Özgür Özel will not attend the congress, which will begin at 08:00 at the Haliç Congress Center.
