In the shadow of the financial investigation into the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, it has been claimed that pressure on CHP council members at the Beyoğlu Municipality continues. According to a report by Cumhuriyet, it is alleged that some CHP members received threatening messages before the September sessions, stating, "Speak the way we want, or you will be detained and arrested." Furthermore, it was stated that these members were also targeted through social media posts by the AKP Beyoğlu District Organization.
CHP officials announced that these threats have been reported to judicial authorities and that the process is being closely monitored. The officials stated, "Beyoğlu is a small district. They tried to threaten council members through rumors and social media. Our members stated that they have audio recordings of the incoming calls and can play them if necessary. These allegations have also been forwarded to the prosecutor's office. We are waiting for the judiciary to provide an answer on this matter."
