AKP Group Deputy Chair Özlem Zengin shared a condolence message for Saadet Party Kocaeli MP Hasan Bitmez, who fell ill while speaking during the budget negotiations at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) the other day and passed away in the hospital today.

In a post on her social media account, Zengin stated, "I wish God's mercy upon Saadet Party Kocaeli MP Hasan Bitmez, and offer my condolences to his family, loved ones, the Saadet Party community, and our Parliament. May he rest in peace."

Zengin's condolence message drew a wave of backlash on social media.
