Altınok speaks harshly on title deed allegations: 'Whoever does not resign is a coward and dishonorable'

The People's Alliance's Ankara Metropolitan Municipality mayoral candidate Turgut Altınok continues to be at the center of discussions regarding his assets, and he answered questions from members of the press at the opening of the Keçiören Municipality Atatürk Ankara National Struggle Museum.

When asked about reports claiming he owns 600 apartments in Antalya, Altınok responded with insults: '"I said, if there is a title deed in Turgut Altınok's name, find it and bring it; 600 of them in Antalya... Whoever does not resign is a coward and dishonorable. But those who claim this are also cowards and dishonorable."

"HE EXPOSED HIS OWN LIE THERE"

In his speech at the opening ceremony today, Altınok stated the following regarding the documents shared by Ağırel:

"Altınok's essence is one, his word is one. It is completely a lie, slander, mud. Why couldn't they produce a title deed that says 'Turgut Altınok'? He actually exposed his own lie there. They will pay compensation for all of this. It is already obvious that it is a lie. Where were the 600 apartments in Turgut Altınok's name? Why couldn't they produce the title deed? They are lying.

MANSUR YAVAŞ SHOULD RESIGN FOR NOT PROVING HIS ALLEGATION

You are also asking us questions based on a lie. Yavaş should resign because he did not prove his allegation. Since he did not prove the lies, mud, and slander he spoke, don't ask me, go ask Yavaş. He is the one who needs to resign. He has no work, no project, no service, he has nothing to tell the people of Ankara. What is he going to talk about?"

Following his speech, Altınok, who continued with insults, expressed his reaction as follows:

"Was there a name 'Altınok' in the documents? Did you see a title deed? I am declaring my assets. 'If there is a title deed in Turgut Altınok's name, find it and bring it,' I said; 600 of them in Antalya. Whoever does not resign is a coward and dishonorable. But those who claim this are also cowards and dishonorable. I stand by my word. They are both lying and unable to prove it, and they are drowning in the mud and lies they have thrown.

"IF HE IS A JOURNALIST AT ALL..."

There is no title deed in Antalya that says 'Turgut Altınok'. They need to resign, they need to apologize. If they are journalists at all, if they are television broadcasters at all, if they have an ounce of morality or decency, they should watch this and say, 'We lied, we threw mud at you, we slandered you, we apologize in the middle of the election.'"

WHAT HAPPENED?

Turgut Altınok's official asset declaration included 22 plots of land, 23 fields, 9 houses, 1 garden, 1 vineyard, 2 masonry houses, and 2 masonry buildings, which he claimed were mostly inherited from his parents.

Finally, it was alleged that Altınok had more than 600 apartments in Antalya.

Altınok's older sister, Günaydın Altınok Altınel, had said, "Moreover, there are even missing items in his assets. For example, the cooperative shares inherited from our father were not written down for Turgut or me."

In the following days, journalist Murat Ağırel shared the documents of Altınok's apartments during a live broadcast.
