Amusing moments during Özgür Özel's speech in Edirne

New Party Chairman Özgür Özel went to Edirne as part of his two-day Thrace tour. Together with Edirne Mayor Filiz Gencan, Özel met with retirees at the Vefa Edirne Cafe.

Speaking at the event, Özel had a slip of the tongue while making remarks about his party. Özel's use of the phrase İYİ Party instead of New Party made those in the area laugh.

Realizing his mistake, Özel said, "Müsavat Bey, greetings to you. Let this be a gesture from us. I love the dear chairman very much."

Continuing his speech, Özel commented on his slip of the tongue with humor, stating, "Sometimes our tongue slips to our old party instead of the New Party. We are careful so it doesn't happen. This time, it was a nice gesture for Müsavat Bey."

Stating that he and Müsavat Dervişoğlu worked together in the past, Özel emphasized the friendship between them. As Özel continued his speech by saying, "I said it three times by mistake. Three people can join the İYİ Party, and the rest can join the New Party," laughter erupted in the hall once again.
