In the Republican People's Party (CHP), the parliamentary group chairmanship election held under the leadership of Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who was appointed to the chairmanship following the judiciary's "absolute nullity" ruling, has been completed. The development that left its mark on the election was the withdrawal of Gürsel Erol, who received the most votes in the first round, before the second round.

In the first round of voting, Gürsel Erol received 19 votes, while Faik Öztrak remained at 18 votes. However, after Erol announced his withdrawal from the candidacy before the second round, Faik Öztrak was elected as the CHP's parliamentary group chairman.

MEETING WITH DEPUTIES BEFORE THE ELECTION

Before the group chairmanship and deputy group chairmanship elections, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu met with CHP deputies. Some deputies who were abroad were unable to attend the meeting due to providing excuses.

While Faik Öztrak and Gürsel Erol competed for the group chairmanship, the names of Serkan Sarı, Sevda Erdan Kılıç, İnan Akgün Alp, and Rahmi Aşkın Türeli came to the fore for the deputy group chairmanship.
