Another CHP mayoral candidate has been announced

Yenimahalle Mayor Fethi Yaşar has been nominated by his party for the 4th time for the Yenimahalle Mayoralty in the local elections to be held on March 31, 2024. Yaşar's candidacy was announced at a ceremony held in front of the CHP Yenimahalle District Headquarters. Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş, as well as Yenimahalle Mayor Fethi Yaşar and local residents, attended the ceremony.

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Yavaş, in his speech, expressed that he works in harmony with Fethi Yaşar, stating, “Our Mayor Fethi wins the election by a large margin every time he runs. His most important characteristics are that he does not discriminate against anyone, he does not marginalize anyone, he rushes to help everyone with any kind of trouble without asking for their identity or anything else, and he never wastes the municipality's money, spending it as if it were his own. This is a common trait of ours. Just like Mayor Fethi, when we took office before the election, we said that when spending the municipality's money, this money is the money that comes to the municipality, earned by the pure sweat of the people of Ankara, and that we would not spend the municipality's money anywhere we would not spend our own money, and that we would spend all our expenditures for the essential needs of the city. We are continuing and implementing this exactly. He has also maintained a transparent, participatory, and accountable municipal administration.”

Yenimahalle Mayor Fethi Yaşar explained why he is a candidate for the fourth time, stating, “If I had completed my dreams regarding Yenimahalle, I would have said it was enough. Being a mayor of a city is not about the duration, but about skill, the work implemented, and the benefits to the public. It is about experience. It takes a term for a mayor to get to know the city, its problems, needs, people's expectations, and the state. I am a candidate so that our 15 years of municipal experience is not wasted and that Yenimahalle may live its golden age. While we have moved Yenimahalle, which was in the 200s in the development index in Turkey according to TUIK data for 15 years, into the top 5; I am a candidate so that it does not fall back while we have made Yenimahalle a center of freedom, art, culture, entertainment, peace, and modernity, and a city where people who are wholeheartedly attached to Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk live. Being a mayor is not a matter of time, it is a matter of commitment. I have kept every promise I have made to date. I am a candidate to raise Yenimahalle to the first place in the coming term.”
