Another controversial move by AKP's Eray Karadeniz, elected acting mayor in Gaziosmanpaşa
AKP's Eray Karadeniz, who was elected acting mayor in Gaziosmanpaşa, introduced himself as the mayor on the municipality's website.
Following the arrest of CHP's Gaziosmanpaşa Mayor Hakan Bahçetepe, AKP's Eray Karadeniz was elected acting mayor with 21 votes, with the support of the MHP. After assuming this role, Karadeniz met with the public, visited local shopkeepers, and shared messages of thanks on social media.
Karadeniz changed his title from 'acting mayor' to 'mayor' on the municipality's website.

This situation sparked criticism of "interference with the will of the voters." It is known that Karadeniz previously served as the AKP Gaziosmanpaşa Youth Branch President and was hired by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB), but was later dismissed. He also lost the reinstatement lawsuit he filed against ISPARK.
