Another reaction to Bahçeli's call to Öcalan comes from YRP: 'It cannot even be imagined, let alone uttered'

YRP's Suat Kılıç made statements regarding the agenda to members of the press following the Central Executive Board (MYK) meeting held at his party's headquarters.

'THE LEGITIMATE INTERLOCUTORS ARE THE DEM PARTY MEMBERS'

When asked for his assessment of MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli's words, "Let the terrorist leader come and shout that terrorism has been abolished in the TBMM," Kılıç made the following statement:

"He says, 'Let the isolation conditions be softened.' The isolation conditions can be changed. For every prisoner under isolation, the authority to do this lies with the Minister of Justice. If the Minister of Justice wants, and if the government has an inclination and desire in this regard, they can soften the isolation conditions regarding the terrorist leader as well. There is no one holding the Minister of Justice's hand. If the terrorist leader is going to call on the organization to lay down arms, he can make this call from Imralı. If they want him to give a message, let them take him out of isolation and receive his message. Other than that, the terrorist leader speaking at any podium of our Grand National Assembly cannot even be imagined, let alone uttered. If a legitimate interlocutor is being sought, there is no need to run away from the mat. The legitimate interlocutors are the DEM Party members in the TBMM. They are already in the Assembly and in front of the podiums. There is no one taking the microphone from their hands or preventing them from speaking for any statement they might make. Let them speak, let them call for laying down arms. Let them be the voice of our Kurdish brothers and sisters, our citizens who voted for them, in their longing for a Turkey without terrorism through the calls they will make in the Assembly. Other than that, the terrorist leader coming to the TBMM, speaking at the Assembly podium, or making a call cannot even be imagined, let alone uttered."

YRP leader Fatih Erbakan, in a post he shared on X, noted the following:

"Devlet Bahçeli's proposal for terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan to speak in the TBMM, which conducted our War of Independence, is a heavy blow to our nation's fight against terrorism and the cherished memory of our martyrs. Such a thing cannot even be imagined, let alone proposed.

If an interlocutor is being sought, the representative of the Kurdish people is not the terrorist ringleader; it is political parties, NGOs, opinion leaders, and our citizens in the region.

In these lands that we have made a homeland with the blood of our martyrs, there will never be concessions to terrorism, and the unity and solidarity of our nation will always be protected."
