Antalya Police Chief İlker Arslan and businessman arrested
İlker Arslan and Fazlı Ateş, who were detained as part of a corruption and bribery investigation into the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, have been arrested by the duty magistrate following prosecution procedures.
Within the framework of the corruption and bribery investigation conducted at the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, Antalya Police Chief İlker Arslan was suspended from his post by the decision of the Ministry of Interior, and a detention warrant was issued for Arslan.
SUSPECTS DETAINED
As part of the investigation, businessman Fazlı Ateş was also detained on allegations of mediating bribery. Both individuals were referred to the courthouse following their statements at the prosecutor's office.
ARREST DECISION
The duty magistrate decided to arrest İlker Arslan and Fazlı Ateş. The grounds for the arrest were cited as the possibility of influencing the course of the investigation and the risk of tampering with evidence.
