Ayşe Kulin joins the ranks of the CHP
Renowned author Ayşe Kulin was welcomed into the CHP by party leader Özgür Özel, who presented her with a party pin.
Republican People's Party (CHP) Chairman Özgür Özel hosted renowned journalist and author Ayşe Kulin at the party headquarters. As Kulin formalized her entry into the CHP, she was presented with a party pin by Özel and signed her membership form. Former SHP Chairman Murat Karayalçın and CHP Deputy Chairman Aylin Nazlıaka were also present for this significant moment.
WHO IS AYŞE KULİN?
Ayşe Kulin is a graduate of the Literature Department of the Arnavutköy American College for Girls and began her journalism career as a reporter for the newspapers Cumhuriyet, Güneş, and Dünya. She also served as a writer and editor-in-chief for various magazines. She has held significant roles in the public relations, television, advertising, and film industries.
Kulin's literary career began with the publication of her short story collection "Güneşe Dön Yüzünü" (Turn Your Face to the Sun) in 1984. The story "Gülizar" from this book was adapted into a screenplay and filmed under the title "Kırık Bebek" (Broken Doll), earning the Ministry of Culture Award. In 1989, she was awarded the Best Art Director Award by the Association of Theater and Television Writers for her work on the series "Ayaşlı ile Kiracıları" (Ayaşlı and His Tenants).
Kulin won the 1996 Haldun Taner Short Story Award for her story "Foto Sabah Resimleri" (Foto Sabah Pictures). The book of the same name was awarded the 1997 Sait Faik Story Prize. Known for her biographical works such as "Bir Tatlı Huzur" (A Sweet Peace), "Adı: Aylin" (Name: Aylin), and "Füreya," as well as her documentary novels like "Sevdalinka," "Köprü" (The Bridge), and "Nefes Nefese" (Breathless), Kulin holds an important place in the literary world. She also has short story collections such as "Güneşe Dön Yüzünü," "Foto Sabah Resimleri," and "Geniş Zamanlar" (Wide Times), as well as a memoir titled "İçimde Kızıl Bir Gül Gibi" (Like a Red Rose Inside Me).
In 2004, she contributed to the "Contemporary Girls of Contemporary Turkey" project by donating her royalties to the Association for Supporting Contemporary Living and the Kardelenler (Snowdrops) project.
