Aytun Çıray: The legitimacy of the elections should be opened for debate

The debates that began within the İYİ Party continue. Former İYİ Party Deputy Aytun Çıray, who was a guest on the Gündem Özel program broadcast on TELE1, also joined the discussions with his statements.

Çıray's statements are as follows:

"I do not think Akşener will easily abandon her previous decision. Politics in Turkey is born under multiple conditions. Doing politics in Turkey has become difficult. Politicians in Turkey have lost their consistency. Look, Mr. Erdoğan denies in the evening what he said in the morning, and there is no social reaction. Özgür Özel took office at a difficult time. He will want to achieve a certain level of success in the local elections. I think Mr. Tayyip will open a new constitutional debate after the local elections. He will bring to the agenda the 50+1 rule and the amendment of articles that will ensure his re-election. I think that if cooperation is necessary to win these local elections, it should be done.

"WE MUST DEBATE UNTIL THE SHEPHERD ON THE MOUNTAIN HEARS"

The legitimacy of the elections held in Turkey should be opened for debate. Not for 1-2 days. Until the shepherd on the mountain hears it. The CHP is applying. It says that when the President is a candidate, he should not use state resources. However, the Constitutional Court allows the use of all state resources. The YSK accepts that Mr. Tayyip entering the election is contrary to the constitution. These should be kept on the agenda for days. We are entering difficult times. I am calling out to the citizens: whether cooperation is made or not, you should build cooperation at the grassroots level. Losing the elections would be a loss for democracy."
