Backlash continues against MHP member who recounted a dream about a PKK camp: He was forced to make a new statement

Former MHP Central Executive Committee (MYK) member Akın Üstün participated in a chat broadcast titled "Kurds are Talking: Rojava/Process" on the social media platform X. He drew attention by recounting a dream he had.

Describing seeing himself in a PKK camp in his dream, Üstün stated, "I don't know why I went to that camp, it was a two-story cave. In this cave, there was a citizen who had lost his legs who took me in and looked after me. He was in a commander status within that group. He was taking care of me, and they were hosting me quite well, making me comfortable in that environment."

REACTIONS AFTER THE DREAM WERE IMMEDIATE

Following the recounting of the dream, many comments began to appear on social media, and Akın Üstün's statements were widely debated. Stating that the comments suggested the dream was taken out of context and that a "cut-and-paste" perception was being created, Üstün made a new statement in response to the backlash.

"MANIPULATION WAS ATTEMPTED"

In his statement on social media, Akın Üstün emphasized that his remarks in the chat room were deliberately taken out of context and used for manipulation. Reminding everyone of the call made by MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli, he stated that such manipulations would not succeed. Üstün expressed that his statements were misunderstood and that he had clarified the situation.

Interpreting the dream he had, Üstün continued as follows:

"As I saw in my dream, the end of the road has come for the organization that has 'no legs,' and they have unconditionally complied with the call made to them to 'either lay down your arms or perish.'

The tactical masks worn by those who do not see that a 40-year-old terrorist is being made to lay down their arms are under our feet.

As for the issue of education in the mother tongue, everyone with a sound mind knows that no state with historical and geographical roots has ever had or will ever have two official or educational languages.

Kurds are our brothers; they are free to speak Kurdish as much as they wish.

The official language and language of education of the state is Turkish. Those who try to dilute the process by cutting the beginning and end of the speech I made are those destined for defeat."
