MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli issued a message on the 35th anniversary of Azerbaijan regaining its independence on October 18, 1991. Bahçeli emphasized the historical, cultural, and national ties between Turkey and Azerbaijan.
Stating that the Republic of Azerbaijan declared its sovereignty and freedom to the world once again with the Constitutional Act on the State Independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Bahçeli celebrated the "Independence Restoration Day."
Happy 'Independence Restoration Day' to our brotherly and friendly country, which proclaimed its sovereignty and freedom to the whole world once again with the Constitutional Act on the State Independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan adopted on October 18, 1991. I congratulate the 35th anniversary of this meaningful day with my most sincere feelings.
Describing Azerbaijan's will for independence as a "symbol of the stance against captivity," Bahçeli stated that the 2020 Karabakh Victory gave a new meaning and strength to this idea of independence. Bahçeli noted that the phrase "The flag that rises once will never fall again" forms the essence of Azerbaijan's understanding of independence.
In his assessment of Turkey-Azerbaijan relations, Bahçeli highlighted the "one nation, two states" concept, stating that the two countries face challenges together and will continue their joint stance.
Azerbaijan and Turkey are an inseparable whole, no matter the subject. We are two sons of the same mother from the same lineage. From eternity to eternity, our religion, our language, our love, and our path are one. Our passion and our struggle are also one.
At the end of his message, Bahçeli once again celebrated the Independence Restoration Day of the Azerbaijani people and conveyed his greetings and affection.
