Bahçeli explains handshake with DEM Party MPs! Is a 'new era' beginning in politics?

Bahçeli said the following regarding his handshake with DEM Party MPs:

"As the MHP Chairman, I went to the DEM benches and extended my hand in a manner consistent with the stance of the People's Alliance.

Those who view this well-intentioned attitude, which was not improvised, as anything beyond political courtesy—such as an effort to expand the front for the upcoming presidential clash and a new constitution—are pathetic wretches looking for the shade of a willow tree in a minefield.

The hand I extended is a message of our national unity and brotherhood. The hand I extended is the light, burning like a torch, of the first parliament and the accurate words of our President. The hand I extended is a wish and a proposal: come, become a party of Turkey; come, take a stand against terrorism; come, unite in our thousand-year brotherhood."

'WE DO NOT EXTEND A HAND FOR NO REASON'

We do not extend a hand randomly, out of boredom, on a whim, or for the sake of appearances. We do not extend a hand for no reason. We do not attempt to get up from our seats just to shake hands.

The primary responsibility falling upon the DEM is to understand the value of this sincere hand extended to them, and furthermore, to perceive and evaluate it as a threshold toward becoming a party of Turkey.

'ALLEGATIONS REGARDING ÖZGÜR BEY'S PRIVATE LIFE...'

None of the allegations regarding Özgür Bey's private life can be a subject of our politics. We are concerned with the CHP's politics. Beyond that, we have closed our ears to whatever is said. It is clear that Özgür Bey, who linked our handshake to normalization, is mistaken. We have no land disputes with anyone. Our Turkey is under a spiral of extreme and abnormal threats from outside its borders. Our national security problems have multiplied. If we occupy ourselves with petty squabbles, I ask you, what will we do on the Day of Judgment?

If we embark on such a dark path and guide toward disaster, how will we explain this to history? How will we account for this in both worlds? The Turkish Nation would never accept such humiliation. No matter their sect, origin, or region, none of my brothers would agree to this. Turkey will be one and whole; it will not fall for the vandal game they want to stage.

MESSAGE OF THE PEOPLE'S ALLIANCE

I warn those with malicious and treacherous intentions. The MHP and the People's Alliance, as well as millions of Turkish patriots, will gouge out the eyes of those who look at our flag with evil intent. The homeland is honor, the nation is dignity. It is a debt of honor for us to make this world unbearable for those who wait for opportunities to debate these issues. This noble homeland found its true owner a thousand years ago, and the matter in question has been closed, never to be opened again.

There is no other piece of land, no other migration route, no other corner of a homeland left for the great Turkish nation to return to. The name of this place is the Republic of Turkey, and the name of its nation is the Turkish Nation. Either these lands and those who live on them will live as one and whole, or the Turkish Nation will be erased from history. This is called the historical Eastern Question, and its parties are clear. Today, the issue is not Beirut, but Ankara. The hidden agenda is the Turkish homeland. The next stage of the missiles fired and assassinations in the Middle East is the Anatolian geography.

'FORCE MUST BE USED TO STOP ISRAEL'

Force must be used urgently to stop Israel. The UN must immediately undertake this historical and unavoidable duty and punish the pack of murderers. After the missiles launched by Iran, the process will heat up further, and with possible retaliations, the fire will completely engulf the chimney of the Middle East. Israel has currently declared war on Islam and even on humanity.

The closed session to be held this afternoon in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) regarding Israeli attacks and regional developments is a timely decision. The seven climes should not forget that if Israel comes after us, if it aspires to conduct covert or overt operations within the country, it will be made to regret it a thousand times over. Turkey possesses the power and strength to do this to the end.

VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN AND CHILDREN

“Murders committed one after another by a psychopathic criminal, the harassment incident seen in Beyoğlu, the loss of baby Sıla, and the intensification of public disorder are deeply wounding our nation.

We have no choice but to treat violence with zero tolerance.

We cannot remain silent in the face of violence. We must pull ourselves together, we must recover, we must come to our senses.

If the law falls behind life, social crisis is inevitable.

Those who make real life and those who make the law are the same people.

If complaints of impunity expand, if the release of criminals becomes commonplace, if the perpetrator gets away with what they have done, then everyone will set out to ensure justice according to their own standards, and this time the foundations of the state will be shaken.

The pursuit of pleasure has become the lock on the meaning attributed to life. Today, because of the erosion of values, even small families cannot fit into huge houses. Despite there being many people, humanity has decreased. The age of drug use has dropped significantly, and drug gangs have nested in front of schools. We must take rapid and harsh measures. It is a duty on all our shoulders to join hands and unite as one heart on a national and spiritual common ground to repel this disaster. Those who make real life and those who make the law are the same people.
