Bangladesh on the agenda for Yeniden Refah: 'India should not interfere in internal affairs'

Bekin, speaking at a press conference in Parliament, stated that the Indian media has been publishing reports about Hindus in Bangladesh that do not reflect the truth by using old photos and footage.

Noting that an attempt is being made on social media to create a perception that Hindus are being persecuted by the interim government established in Bangladesh, Bekin stated that the real purpose of these reports is to create an environment of chaos in the country so that the interim government remains under India's sphere of influence. Bekin said, "It will be of great importance for the relations between the two neighboring countries that India does not adopt an interventionist stance in Bangladesh's internal affairs and refrains from provocative actions."

Stating that he has full faith that calm will be restored in Bangladesh following former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wajed and that interim government head Muhammad Yunus will do what is necessary in this regard, Bekin also expressed that a new parliament where all parties are represented will contribute to the development and progress of Bangladesh.

'IF INDIA CHOOSES THE PATH OF DISINFORMATION...'

Bekin also stated in a post on social media, "Dragging Bangladesh back into an environment of chaos will benefit no one," and added the following:

The real purpose of the fabricated news regarding Hindus in Bangladesh, organized by the Indian media, is to create an environment of chaos in this country so that the interim government, which was formed with the common consensus of all parties under the administration of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Yunus, remains under India's sphere of influence, just as it was during the premiership of Sheikh Hasina under Indian Prime Minister Modi.

While all these developments are taking place, it is unacceptable for some segments in our country to ignore the developments in Bangladesh, to support the false perception operations being attempted against Hindus in Bangladesh, and to target Muslims. 

The attempt to spread deliberate disinformation originating from India is causing the initiation of biased arguments against the interim government that is just beginning to sprout in Bangladesh. 

If India continues to pursue a path of disinformation, it is quite obvious that, as in the similar events it experienced in the recent past in Nepal and the Maldives, it will have difficulty developing good relations with the new administration as a result of the wrong policies it has implemented in Bangladesh following the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

In the recent past, India was able to carry out its work comfortably in terms of securing its eastern border and establishing strong ties with Southeast Asia as a result of the great support of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wajed and the Bangladesh Awami League Party, of which she was the chairperson.

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Yunus, in his assessment of the situation regarding the post-Sheikh Hasina era, calls the civil resistance of the students the 'Second Liberation' of Bangladesh, which actually expresses Bangladesh's liberation from Indian sovereignty and dictatorship, because Sheikh Hasina was an unconditional supporter of India and, in a sense, served India's interests unconditionally instead of the interests of her own country.

For this reason, if India continues its provocative policies in order to establish a yoke over Bangladesh as it did under the Sheikh Hasina administration, it will inevitably face significant difficulties, especially regarding China, which will try to be in close contact with the new administration in Bangladesh. Therefore, it will be of great importance for the relations between the two neighboring countries that India engages in new-approach policies with the government led by Prof. Muhammad Yunus, does not adopt an interventionist stance in Bangladesh's internal affairs, and refrains from provocative actions.

Meanwhile, it is highly significant that two ministers from the Hindu population, which makes up 8% of Bangladesh, are included in the cabinet formed under the leadership of Muhammad Yunus. Furthermore, it is extremely important that student groups have been guarding Hindu temples to prevent provocations following the end of the Sheikh Hasina administration. Likewise, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Emir Shafiqur Rahman, during a press conference he held during his visit to the Dhakeshwari Hindu Temple in Dhaka, clearly stated: "All citizens, regardless of their religion, have equal rights, and there is no discrimination between any ethnicity or religious group; everyone has equal rights as a citizen of Bangladesh."

In short, it does not escape notice that the Hindu child named Riya, whose photo appeared on banners during the protests in the Shahbagh area of Dhaka shared on social media in recent days, is being brought to the agenda by certain segments as an event that "just happened" after Sheikh Hasina fled to India, even though it is known that she was killed as a result of fire randomly opened from a helicopter by security forces during the Sheikh Hasina era.
