Great Unity Party (BBP) Chairman Mustafa Destici met with members of the press in Bursa, where he had arrived for a series of visits. The meeting, hosted by the BBP provincial organization, was also attended by BBP Deputy Chairman Ekrem Alfatlı, Provincial Chairman Eyüp Eken, and party district chairmen. Destici made important statements regarding the current agenda.

RESPONSE TO BAHÇELİ: ''THERE IS NO NEGOTIATING WITH TERROR''

Emphasizing the importance of a determined struggle rather than negotiation in the fight against terrorism, Destici stated, "It is clear and plain: there is no negotiating with terror, there is no negotiating with terrorists; one fights them. And terrorism is ended." Stating that Turkey is going through a process where it is almost entirely free of terrorist acts, Destici said, "If we set aside the recent TUSAŞ attack, we are living in a period where terrorist acts cannot be carried out. As the Great Unity Party, we do not find a new solution process in this period to be correct. We stand firm on our position like a rock."

Addressing MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli's statements regarding Abdullah Öcalan, Destici said, "It is clear and plain: there is no negotiating with terror. It is not negotiation with terrorists that is needed, but a struggle. Our President also gave his message on this point at the group meeting by saying, 'We will find the solution with our Kurdish brothers, not with terror.'"

CALL FOR CAPITAL PUNISHMENT

Destici also made striking statements regarding child murders and violence against women. Stating that the death penalty should be brought back, Destici said, "As the Great Unity Party, we have been warning about this for years. If punishments are not deterrent, then punishments must be rearranged to prevent crime. The perverted criminals who took the lives of baby Sıla and our girls Narin and Şirin must be executed," he said.

The BBP leader drew attention to the public's sensitivity regarding the death penalty and requested that this step be taken for the safety of society.

MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, in his speech at his party's TBMM Group Meeting on October 22, said, "Today I will speak from the heart of the book in a way that leaves no need for interpretation," and made a call regarding PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan, stating, "If the isolation of the terrorist leader is lifted, let him come and speak at the DEM Party group meeting in the TBMM, and shout that terrorism has completely ended and the organization has been disbanded. If he shows this resolve and determination, let the path be wide open for legal regulations regarding the use of the right to hope and for him to benefit from it. Let the address extend not from Kandil or Edirne, but from İmralı to DEM, and let this heavy and historical terror problem be completely removed from the country's agenda. I challenge you, we are ready for this. For the sake of the homeland, the nation, the state, the flag, a common future, and full independence, we are ready to endure even this to the end."
