Emergency meeting from Biden: He gathered the war room

As tensions rise in the Middle East, US President Joe Biden held a meeting in what is referred to as the "war room" to discuss the crisis between Israel and Iran and potential Iranian retaliatory attacks.

This meeting was organized in the context of rising tensions and expectations of war following the killing of Hamas Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran.

Biden arrived at the White House at 21:15 Turkish time and met with his national security team. Kamala Harris, Biden's rival in the presidential election, also attended the meeting. Before the meeting, Biden spoke with Jordan and requested that Jordan intercept drones and missiles in its airspace.

It is reported that Biden expects the Iranian attack could be prevented through diplomatic channels.

Meanwhile, Israel Defense Forces Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi and US Central Command (CENTCOM) Commander General Michael Erik Kurilla conducted a joint situation assessment on security and strategic issues. Iranian Chief of Staff Mohammad Bagheri and Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu met in Tehran.

Clashes continue between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon. While Israel conducts airstrikes on Hezbollah positions, Hezbollah is striking Israeli targets from the ground.

Diplomatic talks are ongoing to lower the tension as the situation in the region escalates. However, it is reported that Iran has responded negatively to calls for restraint due to the Israeli attacks.
