Birol Aydın reacts to Murat Kurum's 'Gaza' statement: 'When I heard this lack of level...'
Saadet Party's Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality mayoral candidate Birol Aydın has reacted to Murat Kurum's remarks that "On March 31, the oppressed in Gaza will rejoice, our brothers in Gaza who reach out to us will rejoice." Speaking in Eminönü, Aydın said, "When I heard this shallowness, this lack of level from a person who has served as a minister in this country, served as a member of parliament, and aspires to govern Istanbul, I felt ashamed on his behalf. It is a shameful situation. It is a great pity."
Saadet Party Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) mayoral candidate Birol Aydın met with citizens in Eminönü as part of his local election campaign.
Speaking there, Aydın made evaluations regarding the current agenda.
"WE ARE NOT CONTENT WITH THE CURRENT STATE OF ISTANBUL"
"We know the past of Istanbul, we read its present, and we can foresee its future. The most fundamental difference between us and the other candidates is that we are not content with the current state of Istanbul," said Aydın, adding, "All the projects and promises of the other candidates are based on accepting today's chaos and getting Istanbulites used to it. However, another Istanbul is possible. A better life in Istanbul is possible. This is only possible if you have a vision for Istanbul. Otherwise, in its current state, this chaos is a great injustice to Istanbulites. It is also an injustice to Istanbul. Because Istanbul and Istanbulites deserve respect."
"I FELT ASHAMED ON HIS BEHALF"
Reacting to the words of AKP and MHP's IMM mayoral candidate Murat Kurum, who said, "On March 31, the oppressed in Gaza will rejoice, our brothers in Gaza who reach out to us will rejoice," Aydın stated the following:
"Even though they deserve it, I will not say what is on the tip of my tongue. As a citizen, as a member of parliament, and as a person who aspires to govern Istanbul, when I heard this shallowness, this lack of level from a person who has served as a minister in this country, served as a member of parliament, and aspires to govern Istanbul, I felt ashamed on his behalf. It is a shameful situation. It is a great pity. I will say nothing else."
