Breaking News... Court rejects appeal: Trustee Gürsel Tekin to continue in his post!
The appeal against the appointment of Gürsel Tekin as trustee to the CHP Istanbul Provincial Presidency has been rejected by the Istanbul 45th Civil Court of First Instance. Tekin, whose trusteeship continues, has not been removed from his post.
Gürsel Tekin, who was appointed as trustee to the CHP Istanbul Provincial Presidency, will continue in his post following the court's decision regarding the appeal. The Istanbul 45th Civil Court of First Instance heard the case filed by CHP Istanbul Provincial Delegate Özlem Erkan today.
Erkan had requested the cancellation of the election results, alleging that the voting was rigged during the congress held on October 8, 2023, where Özgür Çelik was elected Istanbul Provincial President. In that case, the court had suspended Çelik from his duties and appointed Gürsel Tekin as trustee in his place.
REQUEST TO CANCEL THE ELECTION
Özlem Erkan had applied to the Istanbul 45th Civil Court of First Instance, claiming that the voting held at the congress on October 8, 2023, was "fraudulent." Following this case, the court initially issued an interim decision suspending Özgür Çelik from his post as Istanbul Provincial President. The court, after reviewing Erkan's allegations, had decided to appoint a trustee for the CHP Istanbul Provincial Presidency.
TRUSTEE TO CONTINUE IN HIS POST
The Istanbul 45th Civil Court of First Instance rejected the appeal filed by the CHP against the appointment of Gürsel Tekin as trustee in the hearing held today. The court decided that Tekin should continue his duties as trustee. The decision also noted that the right to appeal to the Regional Court of Justice remains open.
Following the court's decision, it has been finalized that Gürsel Tekin and the appointed board of trustees will continue their duties. However, it was stated that the court's decision could be re-evaluated by the Regional Court of Justice.
