BAHÇELİ HAD PROPOSED “STATUS” FOR ÖCALAN

MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, during his party's group meeting held at the TBMM, emphasized a "terror-free Turkey" and stated that the "status issue" of PKK terrorist organization leader Abdullah Öcalan should be resolved. Bahçeli's move, which proposed the status of "peace process and politicization coordinator" for Öcalan, has become one of the focal points of the political agenda.

In his speech at the meeting, Bahçeli emphasized that the status debate regarding the PKK leader is important for the country's peace and pointed to the necessity of starting a new process.
