Sharing a photo taken with his family while his home was being searched, Güney used the following expressions regarding the detention process:

Emphasizing that being elected as the Mayor of Beyoğlu was the greatest pride of his life, Güney continued his statement as follows:

“Being elected mayor of the Beyoğlu Municipality, where my father was once a worker, has been the greatest pride life has bestowed upon me.
