The investigation conducted into the CHP İstanbul Provincial Presidency elections has been completed. The indictment prepared by the prosecutor's office alleges that irregularities occurred during the election process.
PRISON REQUESTED FOR 10 CHP MEMBERS
The indictment requests prison sentences for a total of 10 CHP officials, including CHP İstanbul Provincial President Özgür Çelik, as well as Beyoğlu Mayor İnan Güney and Beşiktaş Mayor Rıza Akpolat, who were arrested as part of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) investigations.
The prosecutor's office has requested prison sentences ranging from 1 to 3 years for these individuals on charges of "rigging the vote."
