Breaking News... Justice Minister Akın Gürlek arrives at Parliament, chaos ensues!

Following a presidential decree published in the Official Gazette last night (February 10), high-level personnel changes took place in the Ministries of Interior and Justice. With the decree, new appointments were made in both ministries.

HIGH-LEVEL APPOINTMENTS IN TWO MINISTRIES

According to the decision published in the Official Gazette, Erzurum Governor Mustafa Çiftçi was appointed to replace Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya, while Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor Akın Gürlek was appointed to replace Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç.

HANDOVER CEREMONY HELD AT THE MINISTRY OF JUSTICE

Following the appointment decisions, a handover ceremony was held at the Ministry of Justice for the change of duty, following the handover ceremony at the Ministry of Interior. The outgoing and incoming officials were present at the ceremony.

After the completion of the handover ceremony at the Ministry of Justice, Akın Gürlek arrived at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey to take his oath as required by the Constitution.

The new Minister of Justice, Akın Gürlek, will officially begin his duties by taking his oath at the TBMM General Assembly.

CHP PROTESTS

CHP deputies protested the appointment of Akın Gürlek as Minister of Justice and occupied the podium in Parliament.

The CHP members emphasized that Akın Gürlek was appointed rather than elected, and argued that it is unconstitutional for an unelected minister to take an oath.

During the scuffle that broke out when the CHP members refused to leave the podium, AKP member Osman Gökçek punched CHP member Mahmut Tanal.

Mahmut Tanal's nose bled during the brawl.

CONSTITUTION BOOKLET THROWN AT AKIN GÜRLEK

During the swearing-in ceremony of Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek at the TBMM General Assembly, a copy of the Constitution was thrown at Gürlek.
