Şehzadeler Mayor Gülşah Durbay, who was undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit, passed away in the evening hours.

WHO IS GÜLŞAH DURBAY?

Born on January 4, 1988, in Manisa, Gülşah Durbay completed her primary and secondary education in her hometown of Manisa.

Moving to Ankara for her university education, Durbay graduated from the Department of Food Engineering at Hacettepe University in 2011.

Continuing her academic career by pursuing a doctorate in economics and finance at Manisa Celal Bayar University, Durbay also took on management roles in the private sector.

Providing consultancy services to companies on food safety, occupational safety, quality, and strategy, Durbay also entered political life and served actively in the CHP Manisa Youth Branches.

She was elected Mayor of Şehzadeler in the March 31, 2024 local elections, achieving a significant success for both her party and her city. Thus, she earned the title of being the first female mayor of Manisa.
