Gökce conveyed that the judge was 'busy with other things' rather than listening to him, and that a decision to continue his detention was made after a brief statement.

“IT WAS A SEGBİS THEATER PERFORMED FOR FORMALITY”
In his statement, Gökce described the hearing with the words, “A SEGBİS hearing was held for formality. Our lawyers were not there, and we played our roles ‘remotely’ as they wished.” Stating that he went through a process similar to what he experienced during the initial arrest decision, Gökce noted that the judge did not look at him, only asked “Is it over?”, and announced the decision immediately afterward.
“ARREST SHOULD BE AN EXCEPTION, ESPECIALLY IN POLITICAL MATTERS”
Emphasizing that detention is an exceptional judicial measure and that freedom should only be restricted in mandatory cases, Gökce said that arrest decisions made in political and social events require greater sensitivity.
