Buğra Kavuncu's message to those who resigned: We are saddened by those who leave, but...

Two consecutive resignations in the İYİ Party yesterday drew attention. First, former Central Bank Governor Durmuş Yılmaz, and then former Head of Legal and Justice Affairs Prof. Dr. Bahadır Erdem resigned. Organization President Buğra Kavuncu commented on the resignations via his social media account.

In his social media post, Kavuncu criticized those who left the party, the government, and the main opposition. Emphasizing that some left by adopting the language of the government, Kavuncu wrote the following:

"The government covers up its mistakes and flaws and legitimizes itself by smearing the opposition with slander and lies. Unfortunately, there were friends of ours who were deceived by this rhetoric and got caught up in it, leaving by speaking in a way that resembles the government's simple propaganda language. Similarly, the main opposition is also trying to maintain its power as the sole alternative by hiding behind the government's decisions that are driving the country toward an abyss, even though they know that nothing will change this way...

"Again, unfortunately, there were friends of ours who left by giving credence to these discourses of the main opposition. We will always feel gratitude and respect for everyone who has contributed to this movement, who has been able to maintain their dignity, and who respects us, even if our paths diverge. We are aware that we will face criticism and unfair accusations from many different segments. We are looking ahead. This is not stubbornness; it is the decision of the brave who choose the difficult path to change the nation's unfortunate fate. It is the great Turkish Nation that will determine the outcome.

"Today, it is difficult to establish a party in Turkey, and it is much more difficult to keep it alive. In terms of scale, the only party that has been able to achieve this in the last 25 years after the AKP is the İYİ Party. Our party has managed to survive between the freak Presidential Government System and the imposed two-pole structure. Our strength will come from our unity and solidarity. Of course, we are saddened by those who leave, but this situation will also ensure that we, who remain, will bond even more closely with each other. God is with the good!"
