ALL EYES ON THE EXTENDED PROVINCIAL CHAIRS MEETING

Burcu Köksal is expected to attend the Extended Provincial Chairs Meeting to be held at the AK Party Congress Center at 16:00.

It was stated that President and AK Party Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will also attend the meeting.

ERDOĞAN EXPECTED TO PIN THE BADGE

It was stated that President Erdoğan is expected to pin the AK Party badge on Burcu Köksal, who announced to the public that she would switch to the AK Party, during the meeting.

WHAT HAPPENED?

For some time, there had been allegations that Köksal would switch from the CHP to the AKP. It was also reported to the public that Köksal had not been answering calls from CHP officials during this period, and she announced her resignation from the CHP yesterday.

Köksal announced her resignation with the words, "I am joining the AK Party tomorrow, my conscience is clear. There was no longer any opportunity to engage in politics within the CHP."

She had made harsh statements directed at CHP Chairman Özgür Özel. Following this development, she had been referred to the disciplinary board with a request for permanent expulsion from the CHP.

CHP Spokesperson Zeynel Emre stated, "We have now heard that the ruling party is preparing to pin badges on our Afyonkarahisar Mayor Burcu Köksal and some of those accompanying her tomorrow."
