Busy week ahead at the Turkish Parliament: Pensioner bonuses coming to the General Assembly, DEM Party to meet with AKP and MHP

The General Assembly of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) will discuss a legislative proposal that includes a regulation to increase the holiday bonus for pensioners to 4,000 liras.

The General Assembly, which will begin its weekly work on Tuesday, March 18, will address the Draft Law on Amendments to the Youth and Sports Services Law and Certain Laws and Decree-Laws, which includes regulations regarding the increase of the pensioner holiday bonus and birth grants.

According to this proposal, the pensioner holiday bonus will be increased to 4,000 liras.

With the amendment to be made to the Road Transport Law, administrative fines ranging from 8,500 liras to 85,000 liras will be imposed on those who transport passengers without tickets or engage in unlicensed transport, and fines ranging from 25,000 liras to 250,000 liras will be imposed on those who act as agencies or transport brokers without an authorization certificate.

Provided that an application is made for children born alive on or after January 1, 2025, and that they reside in Turkey, Turkish citizens will be provided with a one-time birth grant or a monthly grant until the child completes the age of 5.

The number of children eligible for the birth grant and the amount of assistance to be provided for each child will be determined by the President.

Personnel of the General Directorate of State Airports Authority (DHMİ) will be paid a "DHMİ performance bonus," calculated by multiplying the number of departing aircraft traffic at civil airports in Turkey by 40 percent of the civil servant monthly coefficient. Within this scope, payments will also be made to the personnel of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (SHGM).
