The Presidential Cabinet will meet tomorrow at the Palace under the chairmanship of AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Foreign policy and security topics are expected to dominate the meeting's main agenda.

REFLECTIONS OF THE NATO SUMMIT TO BE EVALUATED

The diplomatic landscape that emerged following the 36th NATO Leaders' Summit held in Ankara on July 7-8 will be evaluated in the Cabinet. The results of the one-on-one and inter-delegation meetings held by President Erdoğan with leaders within the scope of the summit will be discussed.

F-35 AND CAATSA PROCESS ON THE TABLE

The CAATSA sanctions and the F-35 program, which came to the agenda following US President Donald Trump's visit to Turkey and the Erdoğan-Trump meeting, will also be among the important topics of the meeting. Following Trump's statement after the meeting that "We will lift the sanctions, we will evaluate the F-35s," restrictions on the defense industry and the possibility of Turkey's return to the program will be examined.

It is stated that lifting the CAATSA sanctions alone will not be sufficient in the F-35 process, and that Turkey's position regarding the S-400 air defense systems is also among the determining factors. In this context, it is expected that options in defense and diplomacy channels will be evaluated in the Cabinet.

TENSION IN THE STRAIT OF HORMUZ ON THE AGENDA

The meeting will also address the escalating tension between the US and Iran over the Strait of Hormuz. While mutual attacks continue, mediation efforts aimed at bringing the parties back to the negotiating table are also expected to come to the Cabinet's agenda.

'TERROR-FREE TURKEY' PROCESS TO BE DISCUSSED

Regarding internal security, the stage reached in the second opening process, called 'Terror-Free Turkey,' will be evaluated. It is stated that the legislative steps expected to be taken before Parliament goes on recess and intelligence information from the field will be discussed at the meeting.
