Cafer Mahiroğlu, the owner of Halk TV, which was previously placed under trusteeship, made striking allegations in a statement to journalist Can Ataklı regarding a meeting he says he had approximately four years ago with Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who was brought to the CHP Chairmanship with a decision of absolute nullity.
Mahiroğlu stated that he suspended his relationship with Kılıçdaroğlu after the meeting in question and demanded that Kılıçdaroğlu explain the reason for what happened. Mahiroğlu said that if no explanation is provided, he will share the details with the public himself.
Mahiroğlu said the following:
"Who did I go to his house with on the morning after Kemal Bey mentioned my name among 11 mayors along with his closest man? I want you to ask him to explain that name and ask about this name. And what was presented to me with the list that came out of his pocket? And what did I say? Why didn't I get involved with the Artı 1 television channel, and why did I suspend my relationship with Kemal Bey for 4 years after that day? Kemal Bey will provide the answer to this question. And the 11 mayors of that period are witnesses to this. And when we went there, when the person I went with alongside Kemal Bey took it out of his pocket and what was written on that list was entrusted to me, and I was asked to run that channel using those methods, what did I say there and how did I get up and leave? And how did I suspend my 4-year relationship with him? Will you ask these questions?"
Responding to Can Ataklı's question, "Well, if he doesn't say anything, will you disclose it?", Mahiroğlu stated that he could elaborate on his allegation.
“Of course I will disclose it. I will clearly explain everything with the name, detail, title, amount, the function of the event, and his proposal to me. I ended my 4-year relationship with him because I did not approve of this. I have had no relationship with the Artı 1 television channel.”
