Call to Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu from CHP provincial chairs

The 81 provincial chairs of the CHP met in Ankara to evaluate the investigation launched into the party's congress process. Making a statement in front of the CHP Headquarters following the meeting, the chairs stated, "Regardless of the decision the politicized judiciary makes regarding our party, our 81 provincial chairs will not recognize this decision."

Addressing the party's previous leadership, the chairs said, "In these days when our country is waging its second struggle for liberation, the duty that falls upon all of us is to unite to break the siege against our party and carry our party to power."

CALL FOR COMMON SENSE

Stating that they evaluated possible scenarios regarding the congress investigation during the meeting, some provincial chairs reminded that the case will be heard on June 30.

Speaking to Cumhuriyet, the chairs said, "Whatever decision comes out of the case, life will continue the same way for us. Even if an unfavorable decision is reached, we will not recognize it and will continue to stand by our leadership."

Stating that they also evaluated the possibility of the court issuing a decision that would reinstate the previous leadership, the chairs said, "We have expressed that we will not recognize this decision either. The CHP is not a party to be designed through judicial operations. We have called on our former chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu to act with common sense. Mr. Kemal should stand by the party's elected leadership."

Emphasizing that their priority plan is "resistance," the chairs stated, "Our colleagues presented different suggestions based on negative scenarios. Thoughts such as 'In an unfavorable situation, let us take the party to an extraordinary congress, let us keep watch at the headquarters if necessary' were expressed. The point where everyone agrees is not to recognize an unfavorable decision and to show absolute resistance. For now, we have only made a call for common sense and a statement of support for our current chairman. If an unfavorable decision comes out of the court, we will gather quickly and evaluate our action plan."
