The AKP Gemlik district organization has announced a mass resignation, citing that the administration was disregarded during the candidate selection process.
Before the meeting where AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is set to announce district mayoral candidates in Bursa, the Gemlik District organization resigned en masse.
AKP Gemlik District Chairman Tevfik Yılmaz, in his statement regarding the resignation, claimed that the organization was disregarded during the candidate selection process.
"AS THE DISTRICT ADMINISTRATION, WE HAVE RESIGNED"
According to the report in Cumhuriyet, Yılmaz, who announced the mass resignation of the district administration before Erdoğan's candidate introduction in Bursa tomorrow, made the following statement:
"Due to the disruptions that occurred during the candidate selection process and because our district organization was disregarded, we have resigned as the district administration. We remain soldiers of our party and our cause at all times. During our time in office, we would like to thank our institution directors, NGOs, and all institution employees with whom we worked together to solve the problems of our district, as well as the valuable business people we all know who never hesitated to take responsibility when it came to Gemlik."
