The AKP Headquarters will be the scene of a busy meeting schedule where messages for the new legislative year and the intra-party agenda will be addressed. It is expected that AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan will meet with MPs for breakfast at the party headquarters instead of holding a group meeting at the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM).
According to the report by Besti Karalar from Ekonomim, it was stated that Erdoğan will share his assessments regarding the new legislative year with the MPs in a closed meeting, and will then convene his party's Central Executive Committee (MYK). Within the party, the messages Erdoğan will give to the MPs and the warnings he will make are awaited with curiosity.
MYK'S AGENDA
At the MYK meeting, it is expected that the steps to be taken following the allegations of a fund crisis, the new legislative proposal prepared on the subject, and reports from the field during the summer period will be discussed. It is also stated that calendar discussions regarding the possibility of moving up the 2028 elections may come to the agenda at the meeting.
Within the scope of the fund crisis topic, it is stated that the final status of the legal regulation work being carried out at the Presidential Palace under the chairmanship of Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz will also be evaluated at the MYK. How Erdoğan will act regarding the names mentioned in the allegations within the party leadership is also being closely watched in Ankara's political circles.
It was noted that throughout September, the AKP has been tracking voter trends in the field through MPs, party officials, ministers, and local organizations, and that these contacts have been compiled into reports. It is reported that topics such as support for the second opening process called "Terror-Free Turkey," pension salaries, the cost of living, farmers' production costs, and indefinite alimony stand out in the reports expected to be presented to the MYK.
NEW PARTICIPATIONS CAUSED DISCOMFORT, MPS WILL BE WARNED
Another topic on the party's agenda is the allegations of mayors joining the AKP. While a mass participation of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Cemil Tugay and some district mayors is expected, transitions, especially from CHP-run municipalities, continue to be a subject of debate within the party.
Within the scope of these discussions, it is stated that the words of Istanbul MP Serkan Bayram, "we are getting at the table what we could not get in the field and at the ballot box... I am ashamed," have caused discomfort in the party leadership, and that MPs may be warned regarding similar statements.
