Cemil Tugay adapts quickly: 'The AK Party is the voice of the voiceless'

İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Cemil Tugay spoke at the ceremony held at his party's headquarters following his joining the AKP. President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan pinned the party badge on Tugay.

Taking the floor at the ceremony, Tugay began his speech by explaining that he grew up in İzmir and worked as a physician for 30 years. Describing his perspective on politics, Tugay stated, "I understood in a very short time that the best politics is service."

Asking, "Why do we engage in politics, and whose rights are we defending by doing politics?" Tugay then shared his assessment regarding the AKP.

Tugay used the following expressions in his speech:
