Cemil Tugay voices his reaction to resignation rumors

While efforts to combat the forest fire in İzmir's Ödemiş district continue, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Cemil Tugay made statements regarding the resignation rumors circulating on social media. Tugay emphasized that these claims are baseless and malicious.

Tugay expressed his reaction by saying, "I believe those who voice these claims are malicious. These are empty claims put forward by people I do not know, with whom I have no connection, and who are unaware of what we have done. I joined the Republican People's Party not for personal gain, but with heartfelt belief. We are working selflessly to protect the values of the Republic founded by Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk."

"THE PUBLIC WILL CONTINUE TO STAND BEHIND US"

Touching upon his history within the party, Tugay drew attention to the depth of his bond with the CHP: "I did not descend into this party from the top; I took on duties at almost every stage, starting from the lowest levels. The support I receive from the public shows me that as long as we defend what is right, the public will continue to stand behind us."

Describing the Republican People's Party, Tugay stated, "I see the CHP as a party of people who have not detached from the public, who are wholeheartedly committed to their country, and who work day and night. No one's personal agendas, close relationships, or slanders can turn us from our path. My advice to them is to know their place. Because they will receive their answer not only from us, but also from the public."

Addressing the fire disaster and the country's general problems, Tugay expressed his social sensitivity with these words: "Today we are fighting a fire here, but people all over the country are struggling with poverty, unemployment, and injustice. Wherever the truth is, we are there. We will do whatever is necessary for humanity, for justice, and for service. It is not possible for those pursuing personal agendas to go far on this path."
