İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Cemil Tugay, who joined the AK Party, visited the AK Party İzmir Provincial Presidency. Tugay was welcomed with flowers by AK Party İzmir Provincial Chairman Bilal Saygılı in front of the provincial presidency building.
Closed-door meetings were held as part of the visit. Tugay met separately with AK Party district chairmen, council group deputy chairmen from the districts, and members of the provincial executive board.
Following the meetings, Saygılı and Tugay made statements in front of the provincial presidency building. Saygılı told Tugay, "Welcome home," and emphasized joint efforts for İzmir.
“In İzmir, we will not just talk, we will build. We will turn it into a construction and work site. We will produce works. Hopefully, these will not remain just words.”
Saygılı stated that they held productive meetings regarding İzmir at the provincial presidency and also responded to criticisms directed at their party. Saygılı said, "We will not let anyone speak ill of any of our friends, from the mayors, deputies, and district chairmen in our party to our council members."
Cemil Tugay, for his part, said that there are "qualified and very hardworking" names in the AK Party İzmir provincial administration. Stating that they will work together for the future, Tugay said, "It is time to work, not to talk, to serve İzmir."
