It has been reported that Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz will brief the General Assembly of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) regarding the investigation into certain transactions carried out in capital markets.
AK Party Group Deputy Chair Özlem Zengin addressed the process, which is being discussed in the public eye as the "fund issue," during her speech at the General Assembly. Pointing to the legal dimension of the matter, Zengin stated that the investigation should not be evaluated based on political or social affiliations.
Whoever did wrong in this matter, whoever violated the law, whoever exploited or usurped our citizens' money, must certainly be held accountable before the law, regardless of their political views, social circle, position, or whose relative they are.
Stating that the relevant individuals should be called to testify within the scope of the investigation, Zengin noted that Cevdet Yılmaz will come to the General Assembly on October 7 under Article 59 of the Rules of Procedure to provide information to the deputies.
Yılmaz is expected to make assessments regarding the work of the Fund Coordination Board during his address to the General Assembly.
