Chief Public Prosecutor's Office denied it, but... Özgür Özel's statement on Cem Aydın: Supposedly there is no detention warrant

CHP leader Özgür Özel spoke about the investigation launched into CHP Youth Branch President Cem Aydın. Highlights from Özgür Özel's statements are as follows:

"SUPPOSEDLY THERE IS NO DETENTION WARRANT"

All of our deputy chairmen are at the courthouse. Supposedly there is no detention warrant. If there is no detention warrant, the police go and invite the person to give a statement, or even call them on the phone to summon them. They go with 8 police officers and take him to give a statement by force. When we ask the police if there is a detention warrant, they say, "There is no detention warrant that has reached us yet." They say, "We need to take you to give a statement."

"ALL OUR DEPUTY CHAIRMEN ARE GOING TO THE COURTHOUSE"

If you show up at his door, and you don't even give a detention warrant to the police you sent to his door, hasn't the state, hasn't the police, turned into a police state? All our deputy chairmen, our provincial chairman, and our elected colleagues are going to the courthouse.

"MY COLLEAGUES ARE BEING ACCUSED FOR USING AN EXPRESSION I USED"

My colleagues are being accused for using an expression I used previously. I am telling Recep Tayyip Erdoğan that he should remove the intermediaries. Not a single investigation was launched into the threat made by the Ülkü Ocakları President.

In the information provided by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was stated, "The news that CHP Youth Branch Chairman Cem Aydın has been detained is not true. The individual has been invited to give a statement. An investigation has been launched for the crimes of insulting a public official and targeting individuals fighting against terrorism regarding the tweet he posted about our Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor, Mr. Akın Gürlek."
