CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu: 'I will go into all the details of the bribery ring in the courthouse'

CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu made statements at the CHP Local Governments Marmara Regional Meeting held in Kocaeli.

CRITICISM OF ASYLUM SEEKERS

According to the report in BirGün, Kılıçdaroğlu criticized the government's asylum seeker policy and said the following:

"The great Republic of Turkey has turned into a warehouse for asylum seekers... Just the other day, it was said that the perpetrators of the terrorist act in Ankara came from Syria. What is being said? The border is a matter of honor. We have to ask the people in power this question; are you fulfilling the requirement of the phrase 'The border is a matter of honor' written on that border?"

STATEMENT ON THE MOTION

Touching upon the motion that will come to the agenda in the Turkish Grand National Assembly next week, Kılıçdaroğlu said, "A motion will be discussed in parliament next week. The motion is about the fight against terrorism. Good... We all have to oppose terrorism. There is one sentence we cannot resolve; 'The invitation of foreign soldiers to Turkey when necessary.' Why? Our Armed Forces and security forces have been fighting against terrorism for 30-35 years. What business does a foreign soldier have in our country? If you, as CHP members, do not explain this to the whole of Turkey, it means you have a responsibility," he said.

Kılıçdaroğlu also referred to his speech on Tuesday and stated the following:

"I also asked Mr. Bahçeli. He says, 'I am a nationalist.' I asked Mr. Erdoğan. He is a person who tramples on all kinds of nationalism. Somehow, these two came together! I asked them both, who are these foreign soldiers? I asked the Speaker of the Parliament when I visited him the other day. No news came from there either."

MESSAGE ON LOCAL ELECTIONS

Giving a message regarding the local elections, Kılıçdaroğlu said, "We know that Istanbul, Izmir, Mersin, Antalya, Muğla, Adana, Ankara, Aydın, Tekirdağ, and Hatay have achieved great successes."

Kılıçdaroğlu said: "Our Kocaeli Provincial Chairman said, we will include Kocaeli as well. We will include Balıkesir, we will include Manisa, we will include Bursa. Let no one have any worries. We will achieve these successes by working and explaining what we have done to large masses. Most of all, let the people say Istanbul, let them say Ankara, let them say Izmir... They want to come to places where there are CHP-run municipalities. Because there is peace where there are CHP-run municipalities."

WILL ADDRESS THE ISSUE OF BRIBERY IN THE COURTHOUSE

Kılıçdaroğlu also touched upon the article by Timur Soykan from BirGün titled "The Chief Prosecutor's cry of bribery: We are rotting." Regarding the news, which was subject to an "access ban" and "content removal" order on the day it was published, Kılıçdaroğlu said, "A prosecutor working in Istanbul is explaining the rot in the judiciary to the Council of Judges and Prosecutors by giving examples. A prosecutor is explaining how bribes are taken, what the President's lawyers are doing, how drug barons are released, and what prices gold smugglers pay to get people out of prison, in a petition he wrote to the HSK," he said.

Kılıçdaroğlu stated the following: "I will go into all the details of this on Tuesday. Justice is the foundation of the state. What will you do in a place where there is no justice? You will put people in prison for expressing their thoughts, and you will set drug barons free. There is rot in the state, we need to solve this."
