CHP Chairman Özgür Özel's 'he is definitely still an idealist' remark about Yavaş
CHP Chairman Özgür Özel used the phrase "he is definitely still an idealist" regarding his party's Ankara Metropolitan Municipality mayoral candidate, Mansur Yavaş, during a live broadcast.
With the local elections approaching, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel, who has been meeting with citizens and occasionally making gaffes that set the agenda during his rallies, has made a striking remark about his Ankara candidate Mansur Yavaş, while his previous statement that "those who do paid military service should not vote for us" has not yet been forgotten.
Responding to questions from Barış Pehlivan, Şirin Payzın, and Kürşad Oğuz on Halk TV, Özel used the phrase "he is definitely still an idealist" for Mansur Yavaş during a statement regarding Kurdish voters.
This gaffe by Özel, who used the term 'idealist' for his own candidate, did not go unnoticed by those watching the live broadcast.
Özgür Özel said the following regarding Kurdish voters:
"Ekrem Bey said no one can come between me and the Kurds; all our mayors serve without discriminating against anyone. Kurds are satisfied with Ekrem İmamoğlu, and in Ankara, they are satisfied with Mansur Yavaş...
Because during the pandemic, he did not distinguish between the poor, he did not marginalize anyone, whether he is the most MHP-affiliated or a former idealist, he is definitely still an idealist..."
