CHP council member shot in the face
Mustafa Can Ekiciler (31), a CHP Municipal Council Member for the Süleymanpaşa district of Tekirdağ, was shot in the face with a handgun by 3 people he had an argument with.
The incident occurred at a gas station in the Gaziköy neighborhood of Tekirdağ's Süleymanpaşa district.
Süleymanpaşa Municipality CHP Council Member Mustafa Can Ekiciler had stopped at the station to refuel his vehicle when 3 people arrived by taxi. An argument broke out between the group and Ekiciler for reasons yet unknown. During the altercation, one of the suspects drew a handgun and opened fire on Mustafa Can Ekiciler. Seriously wounded by a bullet to the face, Ekiciler collapsed to the ground covered in blood, while the 3 individuals fled in the taxi they had arrived in.
Mustafa Can Ekiciler was taken to the Namık Kemal University Research and Application Hospital by medical teams who arrived following the report. It was stated that Ekiciler, who has been taken into treatment, is in critical condition.
The gendarmerie, having launched an investigation into the incident, apprehended and detained the 3 suspects.
