CHP Edirne mayoral candidate suffers heart attack
CHP Edirne Mayoral Candidate Şükrü Ciravoğlu has suffered a heart attack. It was learned that Ciravoğlu, who underwent an angioplasty and had a stent placed, will be moved to a regular ward after spending one day in intensive care.
Şükrü Ciravoğlu, who received the most votes in the primary election held by the Republican People's Party (CHP) but has not yet been officially appointed by the party assembly, suffered a heart attack around 14:00.
Ciravoğlu was taken by ambulance to Edirne Sultan 1st Murat State Hospital, where it was determined that he had a blockage in his coronary arteries.
ANGIOPLASTY PERFORMED
Ciravoğlu, who underwent an emergency angioplasty and had a stent placed, was admitted to the intensive care unit. Officials stated that CHP candidate Ciravoğlu will be moved to a regular ward after spending one day in intensive care.
Yesterday, CHP Provincial General Assembly President Mehmet Geçmiş also suffered a heart attack. Mehmet Geçmiş's treatment is continuing at Edirne Sultan 1st Murat State Hospital.
