CHP finds YSK's congress decision positive but insufficient

The Supreme Election Council (YSK) has decided to allow the district congresses held by the CHP in Istanbul to continue. However, it was stated that the Istanbul provincial administration will remain under the appointed trustee. Evaluating the situation, CHP officials stated that while the YSK's decision is positive in one respect, it remains incomplete because it failed to prevent the unlawful appointment of a trustee.

According to a report by Sarp Sağkal from Cumhuriyet, CHP staff stated, "Our signatures for an extraordinary congress in Istanbul were already ready. Now, we can quickly carry out our ordinary congress. The trustee's term will last at most until our provincial congress." These statements indicate that the party's preparations for the congress process are ongoing.

CONGRESS PREPARATIONS CONTINUE

It was noted that signatures are also being collected for an extraordinary party assembly in case of a negative development in the CHP's congress lawsuit. Party officials said, "With the YSK's decision, our opportunity to complete our ordinary congress process has increased. We believe that in the face of similar judicial obstacles in the future, the YSK may again decide that our congresses should continue. In that case, there would be no need for an extraordinary congress. We will continue our preparations for both the ordinary and extraordinary congresses. We will do whatever the circumstances require," they said.
