CHP Group Deputy Chair Ali Mahir Başarır criticizes Kılıçdaroğlu's silence
CHP Group Deputy Chair Ali Mahir Başarır has criticized Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu for remaining silent regarding the police intervention in Istanbul. Başarır stated, "It deeply saddened me that he remained silent while those who worked hard for him were in a difficult situation."
CHP Group Deputy Chair Ali Mahir Başarır has voiced his criticisms of former Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.
Speaking on the Rota program broadcast on Halk TV, Başarır expressed his disappointment with Kılıçdaroğlu with the following words:
"There were 1,500 people in front of our Istanbul provincial building, 700 of whom were members of the women's branches.
For years, they distributed leaflets on the streets and asked for votes for Mr. Kemal.
While they were being beaten and tear-gassed, I expected a statement from our former Chairman. I would have liked him to say, 'Police, leave that place!' but it didn't happen. This silence saddened me greatly."
EXPECTATIONS FROM KILIÇDAROĞLU
Başarır also criticized Kılıçdaroğlu for remaining silent during the legal process regarding the CHP's 38th Ordinary Congress.
"I expected him to stand against these decisions that shook Turkey. That is why I held the justice march.
I am against the appointment of a trustee to my party through AK Party judicial decisions.
Whoever accepts this, I will hold them accountable within this party.
I expected him to make these statements, but Mr. Kemal remained silent," he said.
