The election for the CHP group chairmanship has concluded. In the election held under the leadership of Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who was appointed as chairman following the judiciary's "absolute nullity" decision, Faik Öztrak became the new group leader.
It was stated that Kılıçdaroğlu met with members of parliament before the election, and that some deputies who were abroad did not attend the meeting due to their excuses.
Faik Öztrak and Gürsel Erol competed for the group chairmanship. In the first round, Gürsel Erol received 19 votes, while Faik Öztrak received 18. With Erol withdrawing his candidacy before the second round, Öztrak was elected as group leader.
It was reported that the names of Serkan Sarı, Sevda Erdan Kılıç, İnan Akgün Alp, and Rahmi Aşkın Türeli were brought to the agenda for the group deputy chairmanship.
On the other hand, it was stated that Kılıçdaroğlu is not expected to hold a group meeting this week, and the final decision regarding the meeting is anticipated to be made tomorrow.
