CHP Istanbul Provincial Chair Özgür Çelik speaks to 12punto: 'We will fight'
CHP Istanbul Provincial Chair Özgür Çelik, who announced his support for Özgür Özel, a candidate for the chairmanship at the CHP's 38th Ordinary Congress, spoke to 12punto.com.tr. Çelik said, "We will fight for a democratic Turkey," and added: "Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's contributions to our party are undeniable."
Özgür Çelik, the Istanbul Provincial Chair who announced his open support for Özgür Özel and delivered the signatures of 185 out of 196 provincial delegates to Özel in Ankara, spoke to Ercan Deniz Küçük from 12punto.com.tr at the CHP's 38th Ordinary Congress.
'WE WILL WIN THE LOCAL ELECTIONS FIRST, THEN...'
Evaluating the 'change' congress within the CHP, Özgür Çelik said, "We held a beautiful congress in unity and solidarity. We will win the local elections first. Then, we will fight for a democratic Turkey."
CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu had criticized the proponents of change with harsh words from the podium.
'HE HAS GREAT CONTRIBUTIONS TO OUR PARTY'
Responding to these accusations, Çelik stated, "Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu has made great contributions to our party. As the Istanbul Provincial Chair, it is not right for me to make a definitive comment."
