Important call from CHP leader Özel to the government and the Ministry of National Defense
CHP Chairman Özgür Özel has issued an important call to the government and the Ministry of National Defense following the martyrdom of 12 of our soldiers within 24 hours.
Turkey has been shaken by the news of martyrs received yesterday and today. As the fire of martyrdom has fallen upon many parts of the country, political parties have also issued calls for a National Day of Mourning to be declared following these developments.
While everyone is in deep sorrow regarding these painful losses, a striking post came from CHP Chairman Özel.
Stating that they must be informed in detail about the developments in the conflict zone, Özel issued a call to the government and the Ministry of National Defense. In his post, Özel included the following statements:
"The government must immediately inform the political party groups and the Parliament through the Minister of National Defense.
We demand this briefing immediately regarding the concerning information circulating about the terrorist attack, especially regarding the number of martyrs.
The safety of our soldiers and the condition of our wounded are our primary concerns. We remind those responsible of their duties in this regard with importance and urgency.
I declare from here that; without this briefing being provided, without receiving answers to our questions, and without being convinced, we will not sign any declaration bearing the signature of the Justice and Development Party.
Those who declared a national day of mourning upon the death of the King of Saudi Arabia do not think to declare a national day of mourning today.
I do not know if they will declare a national day of mourning, but our nation has declared its own mourning.
Our condolences to all of us!"
