CHP makes a move on ballot box security

The Supreme Election Council (YSK) has released the voter lists for the local elections, which are open for objections until January 17.

Republican People's Party (CHP) Deputy Chairman in Charge of Organizations Ensar Aytekin made statements regarding his party's election and ballot box security efforts.

According to the report by Cumhuriyet, Aytekin stated that the necessary warnings have been issued to the organizations, saying, "We have been monitoring voter movements since the elections held on May 28. We had the voter lists up to October 1. We looked at those who left and those who arrived in provinces and districts. We checked whether there was any serious mobility or mass movement. We sent these to our organizations in places where we observed such activity."

Stating that they will now conduct their checks based on the newly arrived lists and that the organizations will carry out on-site inspections, Aytekin said, "Our organizations will check whether there are voters who have migrated and whether the registered voters are actually at their registered locations. They will file their objections accordingly. The final date for objections is January 17."

"WE ARE UPDATING OUR POLL WORKERS"

Apart from this, stating that they have already started working on poll workers, Aytekin said, "We are updating our poll workers. We are checking who has been on duty since the last election, who has not, and who has performed their duties incompletely or not at all. We have created a pool accordingly. We have slowly started making ballot box assignments."

'ADDRESSES MUST BE CHECKED'

Stating that special attention is also being paid to the earthquake zone, Aytekin said the following:

"There were serious problems in the earthquake zone because there were no households. Our organizations are now examining the lists in the earthquake regions. We are conducting an investigation there based on addresses and voter contact information. On-site inspections will be carried out accordingly."

Addressing the voters, Aytekin said, "We want our voters to check the lists where they are registered and update them if there is any error. Our organizations are also making our calls on this matter. We are announcing this through meetings and messages. We recommend that everyone check whether they are registered where they reside," he said.
